Renewing Your Library Books: What You Need to Know

Are you due to renew your library books? If so, you're in the right place! Renewing your library books is a simple process that can be done online or over the phone. In this article, we'll walk you through the steps and answer some common questions about renewing your library books.

First things first: not all items are eligible for renewal. Music CDs, DVDs, downloadables, storytime kits, Launchpads, Wonderbooks, and books that have a waiting list are among those that cannot be renewed. If you're unable to visit the library in person to renew, please call 97 to ask about alternative options.

To renew your library books online, follow these steps:

1. Log in to My Account using your library card number and PIN.

2. Click on the Renew My Materials link to open the item renewal screen.

3. Select the items you'd like to renew by checking the box in the Items column.

4. Click the Renew Selected Items option.

Alternatively, you can renew your library books over the phone by calling the Library branch near you and providing your library card number.

Before you begin the renewal process, make sure to check that the due date has changed when you attempt to renew an item. Downloadable items cannot be renewed through this service and will not appear on your regular patron account.

Most books and audio books can be renewed up to two times by following the steps above. If you're unsure about whether an item is eligible for renewal or have questions about the process, please don't hesitate to contact us.

In addition to renewing your library books online or over the phone, you can also check on the status of your account and view a list of items currently checked out to you by logging in to My Account. From there, you'll be able to see your current account status, including the titles and due dates for each item, as well as any fees that may be outstanding.

To access My Account, simply click on the Library Catalog button and select the My Account menu option at the top of the page. Enter your library card number and PIN, then follow the prompts to log in.
